Origins of Solfeggio Frequencies

June 26, 2025

I just received my first set of Solfeggio Tuning Forks and delving into the mysterious origins of Solfeggio has left me with far more questions than answers.

In this article, I will start with one of the main theories that Solfeggio music originated during Roman ancient times with the practice of Gregorian Chant.

From the moment I first felt their resonance, these special frequencies created an immediate sense of calm relaxation in and around me…

I’ve been exploring each tuning fork, enchanted by their high vibration tones, I can’t wait to weave them into my upcoming piano compositions!

Also, I discovered how to tune my digital pianos to 432 which was Vivaldi’s original tuning for music and orchestras (which I’ll elaborate upon in my upcoming blogs) in my new Meditation Series this Summer🌻

Feel free to listen to my mystical inspirations in my latest YouTube release, “Celtic Spirit” featuring piano, flute and harp 🎹

Upon returning from the Celtic Lands several compositions seemed to effortlessly write themselves as visions of standing stones, beautiful ancient ruins and churches continued to drift in and out of my consciousness.  Has that ever happened to you upon returning from a special Journey?

  • Nikola Tesla was quoted as saying: “If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6, and 9, then you would have the key to the universe.”🗝️
  • The profound healing properties of Solfeggio Frequencies have been around for thousands of years and in modern times is associated with many concepts we can actually “wrap our head around.”
  • Some examples include the Fibonacci sequence, which is found in natural structures like plants and galaxies. The shape of the flower of life, which is an important symbol in sacred geometry, is sometimes associated with the energies of these numbers.

What are the Original Solfeggio Tones, you may ask?

Here’s a good starting Table!

Solfeggio SyllableNote (approximate)Frequency (Hz)Meaning
UtC396 HzLiberates guilt and fear
ReD417 HzFacilitates change and undoing situations
MiE528 HzTransformation, miracles (DNA repair)
FaF639 HzLove, connection, relationships
SolG741 HzAwakens intuition, problem-solving
LaA852 HzReturns to spiritual order, inner strengt

The Historical Origin of the Gregorian Solfeggio system began it’s journey in 4th Century Europe, especially in Rome. Soon the practice of chanting psalms in their early 6-tones scale spread across the Christian world.

Gregorian chant developed from Roman chant and was influenced by other regional traditions, like Gallican chant in Gaul. Documents reveal that Monks rarely took to ill health as they sang in monophonic choirs, also known as plainchant, and only required  a few hours of sleep to regenerate their bodies, minds and souls.

The syllables formed the basis of the solmization system, later becoming the familiar Do–Re–Mi–Fa–Sol–La–Ti–Do system where many musicians learn sight singing to this day. Today, the healing properties of Solfeggio performed through the Sacred Solfeggio Tuning Forks, crystal bowls and other instruments create an ambience of timeless harmony. Celtic Spirit – 432 Frequency is my offering today which I recently rendered into 432 Hertz features piano, harp and flute with relaxing Celtic imagery.

It’s important to note that each frequency or number sequence that reduces to 3,6 or 9 is considered an important solfeggio wavelength!

432 Hertz (Hz)  can offer several benefits, including stress reduction, improved sleep, and enhanced focus. It’s often associated with promoting relaxation, meditation, and a deeper connection to the song.

Some studies suggest it may also positively impact blood pressure and heart rate which I find to be fascinating!

I look forward to sharing my Solfeggio music with you through voice, piano, tuning forks, crystal bowls and more!

Many Blessings,

Celeste💓
